It’s next Monday, and we’re down to 50 tickets.

What it is

Chicago Does the Met Gala is our city’s fashion night, a room built for looks, culture, and community.

The assignment (theme: Fashion Is Art)

Outfit-as-citation means your look is a reference.

  1. Pick an artwork (painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, textile, installation)

  2. Translate it into an outfit (color, silhouette, texture, era, material, mood)

  3. Bring the reference (save the image on your phone or print it)

If you’re stuck, start with one element (a color palette, a shape, or a material) and build from there.
